Wont bother me any. My standard dvds that i buy used from Blockbuster for 10 bucks a pop look just fine upconverted through my media pc :)

well encoded SD dvds look almost the same as a lot of 720p material...and 720 is HD ;)

does anyone know...if this hi def stuff swears by just single editions of movies? Or will they employ the limited edition, special edition, collectors edition, directors edition...uncut junk that plagued SD dvd

:D

SD DVD is nowhere near 720p

First off 720p is 1280x720

Standard DVD is 540x276

Progessive scan DVD is 640x480

640x860<1280x720...

on Blu-ray's the good thing is that it supports actual seamless branching unlike HDDuD, so they can include the Extended/directors etc on the same disc and you can choose it using seamless branching. BD's Seamless branching is better than HDDuD's seamless branching

Seamless Branching FTW!!

The term HDDuD is so last week. I was hoping when theend got banned it would stop getting used.
