I think everyones photo's are too dark.

Anyways heres mine.

Taken at my good friends' graduation ceremony as he walked onto the field.

Shot with a Pentax K100D with a Pentax 75-300mm Lens as I stood on the railing of the bleachers...

good piic and texture, i wanted to ask you how do you get so much vibrance out of your photos i find this k100d to be very flat in colour.
also i was going for a dark/effect.

me no i dont have any raw codecs yet that will read the images.

Well that might be half your problem. You can get so much more out of a photo in RAW file format.

Google: "silkypix" it is a free RAW editor. Output quality is decent. But you will be able to tweak a photo so much more.

will do. i would like to start using raw yes but really all i want is a converter will it convert my imgaes to jpeg?

yes. top of the program there is a tab called "developement" it converts your finished photo to JPEG format.
