PC not recording my microphone

I play arma 3 frequently and record my operations through geforce, it doesn't record my microphone(me talking) during the videos, I can hear everyone else but not myself, has anybody had that problem with arma or any other games like that and/or have a fix?

Have to make sure audio/microphone is selected in Shadowplay.

In game & Microphone was selected when I just went in there and checked the settings

Do you have your mic set to default recording device in Windows properties with the others disabled?

I didn't have the others disabled, but it was selected as default

Do programs like OBS pick it up during recording? I don't personally use Shadowplay because it's a bit wonky so this could just be a weird compatibility issue of some sort.

I've only used ShadowPlay, I hear OBS is pretty decent?

Yes OBS is good - you can set it to use the NVENC which will use your nVidia GPU to record.
