...to be fair you are the one that brought up the 5970...I personally don't like it as it runs too hot, but at least the performance is being delivered in terms of the power consumed.

And in any case the reason no one is complaining about the 5970 is because it completely destroys a GTX 480....not to mention it's a dual-gpu card that no one expects to run cool.

-10% better
-ONLY 9% hotter
-same price/performance/heat as the 5970
-just because it's hot doesn't mean it's close to the danger zone. I'm sure they wouldn't make a card that basically kills itself just for being at load.

But whatever..no matter what anyone says the card has "nvidia" printed on it instead of ATI so it's doomed to be "bad"

The 5970 certainly seems to be beating the GTX 480 by a clear margin in those tests and they are certainly not equal. Regardless I would rather have crossfire 5850's

It's also worth mentioning that most of us "ATi fanboys" own or have owned cards form both sides.

You've obviously not looked at any benchmarks then....seriously you are talking about facts but looking through green-tinted glasses at everything....and then acting like a child throwing toys out of your stroller. I'm not a fanboy at all, you might notice that I have the same card as you , and it's a great card. :/



FYI, here are some various benches....hardly around 5970 performance. More like the 5870 is around 480 performance.

Ive owned way too many cards lol...

Nvidia: 6200, 7600gt, 8600gt's, 8800gt, and currently 2x 8800gt, 2x 8800gs, 1x 9800gt and a 8500gt

ATI: HD4850, HD4890

Also as an overclocker you should be concerned with the temperature of the card, as you'll have trouble clocking it on stock cooling...especially in the summer months.
