...to be fair you are the one that brought up the 5970...I personally don't like it as it runs too hot, but at least the performance is being delivered in terms of the power consumed.
And in any case the reason no one is complaining about the 5970 is because it completely destroys a GTX 480....not to mention it's a dual-gpu card that no one expects to run cool.
destroys it? everyone benchmark I've seen shows them being even.
I give up...fan boys won't have it any different. They'll complain and complain and put out every little flaw knowing it's not that bad.

-same price/performance/heat as the 5970
-just because it's hot doesn't mean it's close to the danger zone. I'm sure they wouldn't make a card that basically kills itself just for being at load.
But whatever..no matter what anyone says the card has "nvidia" printed on it instead of ATI so it's doomed to be "bad"
