Hey guys, I have a really interesting project I'm trying to pull off. So I know that I could technically run emulators for older operating systems, but I wanted to get a full system built like a late 90s desktop.
I tend to collect a lot of older software so I wanted to run them on a system that was actually built for it. I tried installing a second edition 98 on a much newer hp 5100 mt (which I had my doubts on succeeding to begin with). I tried to format a drive to install the OS on but I was given an error saying that it wasn't compatible. Was worth the try I guess.
So I figured I'd come on down here and give it a go and see what you guys thought about it. Maybe get some recommendations or advice on the matter. So far what I'm seeing is having to get the correct hardware together, but I can't imagine there's just this huge surplus of old computer parts just sitting around either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
