Hi, Below are the specs of my next build - not a massive gamer, but my friend (who will be using the PC) is.

Just wondering whether these games are gonna work...
Crysis, Battlefield 2142, Star Wars Republic Commando, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Far Cry 2.

Proccessor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2x 2.66GHZ, 1333MHZ Bus, 4MB Cache
RAM: 2GB (2048mb) DDR2 Pc6700 800MHZ (2x1GB)
Motherboard: ASUS P5K, Intel P35 Chipset
Hard Disk Drive: 500GB SATA2, 7200rpm, 16mb
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce 8600GT 512MB, PCI-Express x16
Optical Drive: 20x DVD-Rewriter (+/-/Dual Layer/RAM), CD-Rewriter, CD-Rom (Single Drive)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Tower Case / Psu: EZCOOL Atx Case with 450w Psu
Wireless Card: 54MB PCI 802.11g/b
Card Reader: 33 in 1
USB Ports: 8x USB 2.0 Ports (6x at Back, 2x at Front)
Firewire Ports: 1x 1394a
Sound Card: 7.1 Channel Surrond Sound with HD Audio
Network Lan Port: 1x 10/100/1000MPS Gigabit Lan Port
Other Connections:
1x PS/2 Keyboard Port, 1x TV-OUT Port, 7.1 Channel audio i/o, 1x D-sub, 1x DVI Port, 1x External SATA, 1x S/PDIF Out (Coaxial)

They don't need to work on the highest settings possible, low will be fine. As long as they do actually run (without any probs!).

All help and info appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance!

Just realised the title should have been

'Will this PC cope?!' Lol

huge weakpoint... the GPU, get a 7900gs or 8800 series or hd29xx series or the hd38xx series

but if you play on low/medium settings you should be fine with the 8600gt on Crysis

Where are you getting the parts from?

e8400 > e6750
What brand RAM is that???
MSI P35 Neo2-FR
What harddisk is that? I can reccomend the samsung spinpoint f1 series as excellent disks.
Agreed with vernon about the grafix card.
If you use a case PSU, there is a large chance that it will blow, and take many of the compnents with it.

how did I miss those???

I'm getting rusty on build critiquing

Thanksyour responses guys.

Not sure on the brands, I am not dealing with that, and will get no say in it - so no suggestions please!

You say the 8600GT is not good, so the 9700gs or the 8800. What about the 8500 - or did they wreck that too.

Its kind of a strange build - if I have one thing I cannot have another etc. So the problem if I got another Graphics card (say an 8500GT for example) I would only get 1 gig of RAM. I could upgrade it - but I wont be able to. Don't ask why, no idea myself - just not allowed!

Thanks for your help.

What would you say to this? Again not branded stuff, sorry.

oh dear! Unfortunately, those are my only two choices - I'll have to go with the 8600GT and just play crysis on low settings.
