SnowTigers Semi-Private BT Tracker Shutdown
One of the largest semi-private BitTorrent trackers in France, SnowTigers, was shut down in a joint operation with French police and ALPA (Association Against Audiovisual Piracy). The French military even assisted in locating the staff of the site so that they could be arrested as well. Getting a bit dicey over there for pirates, isn't it?

The police and anti-piracy groups seem to be focused on the revenue generated by SnowTigers which they claim should have gone to the rights holders. ALPA president Frédéric Delacroix insisted that SnowTigers was a criminal organization. "The site has garnered several hundred thousand euros," he claimed.
