my house is made entirely of stone other then the roof, which is wood, so wouldnt do much
i need to get more tnt and make some bookshelf's

Built myself a giant obsidian palace, with a long, lit spiral staircase leading up to a tree. I had to cheat to get the obsidian, of course - I doubt there's even that much obsidian on the map. But otherwise it's all done normally.

You can create obsidian by dropping water on lava (at least in multiplayer). That way you can easily build a huge building with obsidian.
