Would you recomend using IE8 exclusively for a web browser? I've been using Firefox for a long time now.

Personal choice. I use IE8 myself. Just remember if you use another browser, make sure to keep it updated as well as any other browser installed. IE8 is a browser but its also a security update from using IE6 and IE7.
