AMD Phenom X3 8750 Reviewed at OCC

I am not really a Intel or AMD fanboy. I buy whatever has the better price/performance and as a result my laptop is AMD/ATI and my desktop is Intel/Nvidia.

That said I can kind of see maroon1's point. AMD tends to get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to performance because people like the company better. In my opinion the slower processor looses regardless of how I fell about the company that makes it.

i don't mind his posts, typically. he is right a lot of the time. he just has poor expression (social) skills.

That was a pretty good review and definitely not biased Intel v AMD, if anything he was trying to say how much better it performs to AMD's quad and that Intel's quad still is in front and has competitive pricing.

The only thing i don't agree completely with is the "best bang for buck" unless talking about just AMD processors.

Honestly, i have never run a AMD. My wife has one in her laptop and i have used it but for limited purposes. Net adn some IM. Never really tested it out.

But overall i can not say bad things against AMD cause i have not personally used them. Which i think might be the case with maroon. I used to defent Intel, even when AMD was the superior, jsut cause it was Intel and I have used them for all my years on a PC.

But it took some heated arguements with some good friends to see how wrong i was. Then Intel came back with a vengenace. Fine.

But unitl i get a AMD in my posession and really try it out compared to the Intel machines i run. I can not say which i like more. Cause it would be a very biased answer.

I love my Intel just like i love my nvidia. But i have used ATi and have not had good experience with them. All it takes is just one bad remark on either side to get the blood boiling. Just look at the MAc Vs Windows debates....

I am glad to see AMD get themselves rolling again. I hope they do make better chips and put Intel to shame again soon. Some of the prices Intel has are crazy....

Exactly, Mak. Innovation and advances are good for the consumer, over all. AMD held the crown for a while and made a good run out of it... enough to shake Intel out of coasting on their P4 heaters and "meaghertz" race. The results of this is the C2 line that we have now.

I use AMD because I happened to buy one back in the day and liked it, and went with it on this build. I have always had a spot for the underdog anyways.

Well that sucker died on me, I'm running a Pentium 3 now, but I'm going to be on that new rig after my AP World History Exam is over, but since I can't even run Halo here, you'll see me here a lot less until that exam is over, I WANT MY COLLEGE CREDIT DANG IT!!

My mom had a P4, mother-in-law had a Celly. Both died. Both now running AMDs... mom is using a socket A 2400+ I gave her, mother-in-law is running a socket 939 3500+ Compaq.
