    Descent Underground

Is that the Source port of Descent? I've heard of it but never played it. Might check it out. Yea, it's a bit old, but it still gets the job done. I'll probably upgrade my system in the next year or so.

    Descent Underground

I remember playing Descent a long time ago. It was a sick game for its time. I can only imagine how sweet this would be with Oculus Rift.

    DayZ Mod

I'm pretty addicted to this mod right now.

What do you think of this rig?

If you're sticking at 1920x1080(1200) SLI 580s are a bit overkill. I mean, I get 70-80 fps with BF3 (probably the most modern PC game, graphically) maxed with just crossfire 5870s which I paid 380 bucks for 6 months ago.

    Skyrim

Currently, it seems Skyrim has problems with crossfire scaling, and as a result I have to disable crossfire for it to run smooth. However, it runs pretty smooth with one 5870 at ultra with 8x AA, 16x AF. Worst case I get is around 45 fps. I noticed a problem right away when the game was running...

    Gaming PC Help!

You haven't listed your PSU but the things you need to consider are Wattage, Amperage, and PCIe plugs (or two/four free molex plugs to convert into 6-pin PCIe plugs). Typically for single GPU setups 550W or higher power supplies is enough to power them as long as you have a quality PSU (cheap...

    Starcraft 2 Lag issues

I've had very iffy performance when the game is set to a high/ultra setting, even though my system should've handled it. It's been a while since I last played (honestly, I'm more interested in watching streams and pro-games of SC2 than actually dedicating myself to playing it) so it might have...

Red Orchestra 2, anyone getting ?

I have it (the beta at least) and I enjoy it quite a bit. It has bugs, crashes, and what not, but it's a big step in the right direction for Red Orchestra due to the better controls and easier to use weapons. If you think RO2 is hard, play the first one, you will find that RO2 is a lot less...

    Gaming PC Help!

If you want some serious performance for under $250 take a look at the GTX 560 Ti which is $190-$230 depend on brand/deals, but if you want more bang for your buck take a look at the Radeon 6870 which you can get for $155-$180 on Newegg depending on which deal/brand you pick. Both should run...

Modern Warfare 3 VS Battlefield 3

Definitely BF3, MW3 just looks like MW2, and then they'll throw a couple $14.99 DLC packs at you.

What to upgrade for best bang for buck?

Honestly I wouldn't trouble with crossfiring different cards like that. Though I would go for a 5870, they are faster in single-GPU setups and about the same in xfire setups. (though run a little more hot and use a little more power) and I think there's still an XFX 5870 w/ lifetime warranty out...

    Help Building Computer

In all honesty, most AMD graphics cards are pretty much the same in terms of hardware regardless of manufacture, so really it comes down to service like warranty and extra goodies. I would personally go with Sapphire or XFX. If you're looking around the low $200 range for a video card look at...

    Minecraft

I like the normal style, though it wouldn't hurt too much to bump the resolution up a bit on them. Not sure if I like the much more realistic HD packs that I've seen. Anyway, I've found that 7chan has a nice minecraft server and community. It looks to be well-run and organized and there are...

Age of Empires III - 10 cents today only on Games for Windows Marketplace

I didn't get a key at first, but the next day I checked the key and saw that I was assigned one. Good deal, although my friends and I have been having trouble connecting to each other, and we never had a problem like that with other RTS games like Company of Heroes, Dawn of War II, Men of War, etc.

    Steam downloading too quick ?

I've had this problem before. My download caps at ~320 kbps but Steam would report files being downloaded at about double that. One thing I noticed is that the download speed displayed when hovering my mouse over the system tray icon on my task bar would report the speed at my usual download cap.
