    surround speaker/win XP issues

I had the same issues, had to use a specfic version of the on board scard. Then set the driver in sound properties to the right 3d choice recommended by the speakers/subs maufacturer. I think I actually set it to another spk arrangement - then applied it back...and it worked. Anyway, good luck.

The Open Source development team which was subpeonead along with Linus, is paying for the Linux Creator legal fees...which is pretty cool, since ODSL is improving Linux and they have a pretty big resource in Linus - heh! Basically, the lowdown is that IBM violated its Unix contract with SCO by...

    boot XP Pro really fast

Depends on whether you set it to optimize for applications or boot stuff. I read this prefetch optimization on tweakxp a while ago and tried it, but found that bootvis worked great along with getting rid of some unecessary services - so left out the prefetch optimization. I think it is good...

Cable modem, 2 PCs on one modem

I have a Motorola surfboard conneced to a RP614 router, which is like fifty bucks new I think. I supply internet access to my entire house with about 8 roomates. I highly recommend this netgear router. It has a configuration page where you can easily, and I mean easily adjust what mac address...
