Hmm, how is it that your able to run 6 dimms at 1600mhz, I was under the impression that the x58 can only run 3 dimms at 1600mhz, but 6dimms at 1333mhz or lower. Perhaps that why your OC is unstable, try running the dims at 1333mhz instead?

If anything, the i7 920 would be a few % pts better, the i5 has its BLCK at 166 instead of 133. with that being said, its turbo mode will be the equalizer which will make them both pretty much the same. The i7 platform just had more bandwidth available for the ultra enthusiasts and workstations.
