    Yeah.
I find it humorous that they are trying to win an xbox360 vs ps3 argument by determining if a certain person's texting habits are mature enough. Like if one can prove that, then all of a sudden they win the argument that the PS3 or the 360 is the better system.

It is quite funny watching the inferior minded individuals on this forum argue over unimportant topics with baseless arguments.

I love adding to the fire, though. It makes my day fun

Those are very good reasons. And I don't blame you one bit. I am in the same boat as you, where I used to buy almost every game coming out back in the day because they were all good. Now I only own about 4-5 console games and only buy about 3-5 a year, which I probably only keep 1-2 of those and sell the others.

There really is a lack of originality these days, but some games still manage to sneek through. I loved Portal, for instance. It was a refreshing, new, and fun puzzle game.

Sadly, though, the games industry is not the only place where this trend can be seen. Look at MPAA and how every single movie is so predictable and the plot so overused.

Luckily I'm so busy anymore that I don't have as much time for gaming so maybe it will end up being less of a shock to me if things do get worse.

Well I do have some sort of superiority complex, and you don't need to lecture me on other countries. I understand that we have more liberties than others. When I say that Americans are dumb -- it implies that it's a general statement that doesn't cover every single person. You may not be, I may not be... but as a populous Americans tend to be very close-minded and dumb. Take a look at politics, it genuinely makes me want to barf; Americans would rather vote for someone good looking or who can give a good speech rather than actually learn about the issues.

Also lazy isn't really fair since America generally works the hardest out of every nation when you compare working hours -- but they are intellectually lazy.

Also in response to Asian countries... that's China -- you can't really generalize asian countries like that. Notably the city of Hong Kong because it happens to be the most free place on earth superceding America in many respects.

But yes, the American people are the world's butthole in a matter of speaking.

Why do you say they are dumb? And besides, you are not even 20 yet, same as me. I don't mean to be rude, but referring to the general American people as dumb makes it sound as if you have a major superiority complex issue. I agree with you that a lot of Americans are very stupid. Turn on any "reality" or "game" show and you will see some prime examples.

However, unless you have an intelligence quotient of 185, I don't think it is in your right to be calling the American people stupid. We may have more idiots than some countries, but we also have more geniuses than most. If you are comparing Americans with Japanese or Chinese, I can see how you would call Americans stupid, but I think the more correct term in that sense would be lazy.

Asian countries focus more on education, restriction, rules, and general knowledge gain than the US. They also are usually more dedicated to those things... but that is because in terms of national wealth, they are lower than the US and so they do these things to hopefully one day surpass everyone. The US is so used to being number 1 that all of it's citizens are lazy. They don't study as hard, they don't try as hard, etc., etc.

Plus as Americans we have many more liberties than that of an Asian individual. All that freedom, but lack of motivation leads others, like you, to view Americans as stupid.... I don't mind it if you say most Americans are stupid or lazy, but do not say a general statement such as "Americans are dumb" because I take a slight offense to that and I do not believe myself to be "dumb" by any means.

I'm from America, and I barely even want to talk about what I think is wrong with the American people. It mostly stems from the fact that they are pretty dumb.

Ah I see. Sorry, I guess it didn't notify me that you replied. What is your problem exactly with the American people, and more importantly, are you American or from Canada, UK, or somewhere else?

Honestly, I agree with that 100%. I meant in general, the presidency has been held by the super wealthy. But honestly, by the time Grant, Johnson, and Lincoln were in the presidency -- they were in that class. But that's besides the point. I agree with the rest you say 100% as well, but I blame the American people first over the actual system.

Most of my problem with this country is the American people.

Since we can no longer debate the topic in the off topic thread, I have some answers for you.

First off, his connotation was not that peasants ran the country, but that normal working class individuals used to hold just as much chance, which now they no longer do.

    Some examples:
Several presidents were not wealthy and even came from the working class, Ulysses S. Grant, Andrew Johnson, and Harry S. Truman. Abraham Lincoln himself was born into a normal working class family.

I think the main point he was trying to make is that the US Presidency used to be based on the merit of the individual and his ability to lead. While that still plays a factor in today's society, it has changed much to the point that you must be born into a wealthy family or family with a history of politics. It is no longer a campaign for who is the best candidate, but a campaign to see who can raise the most money to put out the most convincing advertisements which all amount to open promises that may or may not be kept.
