Default Re: XP SP3 Automatic Updates fail issue

So you have a machine that freezes at the atapi.sys file and wont load? The only thing i can think of is a USB device causing havoc. Have you removed all USB Devices? Then tried to isntall?

I seen someone said they tried to install SP3, it failed. They ran the repair feature then did it again and it passed. I dont know what that shows. But the only thing i can think of is a file copy error or something plugged in thta is interferring with the install.

I notice that this error was popping up while backing up files. I know how to put one back if needed, so I selected skip this erro and sp3 installed. I did get a bsod, but it's one that I get from time to time. it has something to do with the mobo bios being acpi compliant
