Office XP is older than Office 2003. It is basically the 2000 version of Office. It was released at the same time as XP was. Hence the Office XP title.

ok, so the service pack that was on download.com said it was from m$ so maybe it is just a bunch of updates after sp2 was released?

no

it was the 3rd service pack for it. they didn't invent service with xp.

you can forget about what I said earlier in this post. I didn't notice that it office xp, and not office 2003.

but they will be release an update to earlier versions of office to make it compatible with the future version (2007)

*sigh* I don't think MS will release sp3 for Windows XP. IMO...it just seems they are really pushing people towards Vista, dx10, Aero, etc....nothing is hardly backwards compatible. I think the biggest factor on if they will produce WinXP sp3 will be the sales of Vista and Vista loaded PC's
