xp pro to 2000pro

I would like to " downgrade " from xp pro to widows 2000 pro ? I tried everything , and just putting 2000 pro disk in the drive will not do it because the option buttons that one could normally click on fade out and are inactivated . If an f-disk or kill disk is needed could anyone give me a website where I can get an efficient program . Thanks

Have you tried to restart and put the CD in the drive? This is what I used to do fresh installs from where I work @ Scott City. Then, it will display the partitions, and you delete that partition.
