Default Xp Oem

Okay so could someone give me the lowdown? I purchased a xp pro and vista home OEM from newegg. Well it appears I have lost the disks and seems I am screwed. Did I make a mistake and not purchase the correct version of the os? I have legit product key's on these two pc's but when I went to microsoft to replace the lost disks they say I have to speak with the system builder to receive a new one? If it matters I built both of these systems for friends as a favor. Did I screw them and myself? please comment.

i would say you bought the correct ones. if you can maybe barrow OEM versions of the OS' from someone, seeing how you have legit keys you should be able to install them.

Torrent the OEM discs. I've done it with various XP versions so I can have various discs when I have to re-install people's systems (using their own, original legit key).

Or like Mahiv said, see if you can find someone to borrow the discs from, and copy them. Torrenting the discs would be much easier though (its legit as long as you use a legal/valid key).

Microsoft is right. They wont replace a OEM disc cause they are for system builders like Dell, HP and all them. By you buying from NewEgg you basically shorted yourself out of the discs. You will now have to find the discs by other means.
