| So I just used WipeDrive to wipe a harddrive, however everything has been erased it is not showing up in Windows. Do I need to format it or something?

| Lurker Techie | Yes. Start > Right click 'My Computer' > Manage > click "Disk management" on the left panel > find the drive in the bottom half of the window that appears on the right side now > right click it > format. make sure the drive you pick is the one you erased (should say "RAW format", or something of that sort).

| Oh god did not even think about that thanks, however it says the disk needs to be "initialized" however it gives me two options, MBR and GPT. If I choose MBR wouldn't that change how I boot into Window windows vista right now?

| Hello, Megan he did not wipe his OS Drive. He wiped a 2nd drive which is why he asked why it wasn't coming up in Windows. DeadPixel, Do not use the MBR setting. That will make that drive the boot drive and will stop you from booting into Windows. I would suggest using GParted to just format the drive to NTFS real quick. Then it will be recognized by Windows. Cheers, Mak |
