| I updated windows xp via windows update recently. Now when I go to the windows update website, it says there are 11 critical updates, however, each one of them says zero bytes for the size of the file. If I try to do those 11 updates, it fails. If I go to shutdown the computer, the "power-off" icon has a message by it that basically says I have to shutdown the computer to finish installing the updates so I click on the icon and it begins to shutdown and update. I get a message that says installing update 1 of 10 and then it powers off before all 10 updates are done. The next time I power on and do to the windows update site, the same 11 updates are still there and I cannot complete the update. I think I have already downloaded the updates and a proper power down needs to be done where it does all updates before powering off but how do I do that? How do I get this computer to complete the install of these updates?

| Ya i ran into this doing clean installs on a few machines at work. I had to download an older version of the updater to fix the problem. It only seems to happen with a fresh install and sp3 install.
