Default Windows XP Theme

Is there a patch that I can use to apply themes without having to use StyleXP or a such program? I have downloaded the UXTheme.dll patch, but it didn't work, it's not a big deal, I don't need themes, but I do like being able to customize my desktop, when I installed the UXTheme.dll patch, I can only change the background picture and not the taskbar. Thanks Jeremy.

I thought there was a folder in the a directory where you could place your theme files... c:/windows/resources/themes" folder.

Yes, there is, but when I save my themes that I do download from sites like THEMEXP.ORG I uninstall StyleXP and I can't access the themes, all I can use are the backgrounds for the selected themes.
