Default Windows XP removal

What are the best available options for removing Windows XP ? I have an old pc (P3 550) that has XP with a low amount of memory. I want to remove it and put 98 or ME or something that takes less resources. I just need this PC for office stuff. XP was put on this PC by the previous owner so I do not have the cd. Can I use a Win 2K cd to remove the ntfs partition ? What other options do I have ? Thanks in advance. Ray

The easiest method would be to reformat the HDD and install a fresh copy of Windows 98/ME.

Yes, u can use the 2000 cd to format the NTFS partition.

BTW, don't use windows ME, it sucks
