Question Windows XP - Home Edition Help

I have just had a new PC built for me, here are the details

Windows XP - Home Edition
AMD Duron
80 Gig Hard-Disk
512 Ram

I also have Broadband at 1MB

It cost me £330-00, 1 week a go today, all was fine
Now it seems to stop responding sometimes, and sometimes it dont boot up, any ideas ? I dont know, do the newer pc's still have problems now and then ?

Then again I used to have this system

Pentium 3 Processor
28.5 Gig Hard-Disk
256 Ram

Thank-you Lawrie

do you have antivirus and anti spyware running on it? it's possible that you have just got some junk on it that is causing trouble...

You said it doesn't boot up. Do you mean that when you press the power button and nothing happens? How far do you get in the boot process?
