Default Windows XP Help

I'm trying to fix my friends computer and I need some advice on what to do. The problem that she is having involves the screen resolution settings. The slide bar that controls what the resolution is doesn't work at all. When you try to slide it over to a higher resolution it doesn't do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to fix this?

You could reinstall the video card drivers and see if that helps.

after you slide it over, you need to click Apply for the settings to take effect...

yes you need to find the correct drivers for the video card. otherwise it means either the video card or monitor do not support that resolution which is not likely. if you can't change anything that likely means you dont have proper drivers installed. if you need help finding driver goto driverguide.com
