Good idea huh? Lowering the price will definitely get people to buy them instead of bootlegging them
but im not too sure how well vista will be compare to xp pro.

i guess i'll stay with xp pro until vista becomes more and more useful

Well speaking from a testers point of view. XP Pro doesn thold a candle to Vista Ultimate edition. It incorporates all the things that we love plus more. It haev MCE built right in along with others. So i am not worried about the comparison. I am more worried about the stability. If Vista in the beta stages can be leaked and hacked so much now what will happen when it gets released? That is my main concern.

I am not saying that people wont. I am not saying that there wont be ways around it. I am just saying whith what they are talking about for specs (Right now) and what they are talking aobut for security that it just might not be worth it to upgrade right away.

Eventually everyone will use Vista. Even me. But i wont right after it gets released. To many patches and bugs will be discovered right away. I wil stick with the security of XP for about a year till they work out the kinks of Vista.

People will make Activation Cracks ..i have one for the Vista Beta 1 and been using now for more than 14 days and still working ..dont worry more people will be bootlegging

Yes i know about that activation crack. Only problem is it only works for Beta 1. The 3 builds that have been leaked after that it doesnt work for. Build 5219, 5231, and now build 5259 that have all leaked are now only time trials. The activation crack doesnt work on those. No one has figured out where they have placed the activation stuff now. They dont have it in the ususal spots.

So i know what you are saying. But you gotta understand what i am saying. This is the BIGGEST OS release from M$. They can not have any mistakes. They can not allow things like this to happen. They will take what ever steps are necessary to try and stop pirating.

I know that there will be pirating. I know they can not stop it all. I know there will be cracks and hacks. But right now M$ is winning. No one has gotten a crack or hack to work on the 3 builds that have leaked since Beta 1 was cracked. So everyone can bootleg all they want. If you dont have a legit serial now you can not use Vista for more than 14 Days.

Well they havent yet. I am not saying that they wont. But at this point in time aside from Beta 1 nothing has worked. I know that after Vista is finished that yes, there will be a workaround found. But that is when it is finished. Right now in the Beta stages they can change it as often as they want. That way it prevents hackers from finding work arounds for all the builds that are leaked.

Yes the Betas are on torrent sites right now. They are the betas that have been leaked. As of right nwo only Beta 1 (Build 5112) is the only one with a true workaround. Every other one doesnt have one and therefor will only work for 14 days unless you have a legite serial.

Nope. No keygens work effectively. Also M$ only has a few key that will activate it right now. Since it is in Beta testing they can control what keys are active and what are not. So a keygen at this point to activate is useless.
