windows updates error

I keep getting error 646 when trying to install office updates does anyone know the soloution to this.

Have you tried to manually download the updates and install them? What Office Updates? Which version of Office? What version of Windows?

You need to give more information if you want help. Without giving more information you will be asked more questions before you can get a answer.

its windows 7 there are 16 updates for microsoft office 2007 enterprise word outlook etc. i can only instal service pack 2 maually for it. When i goto word outlook etc and check for updates it takes me back to the normall windows updates window.And i get the error again and again.

Next to each update there is a KB or Knowledge Base number. Just type that into Bing or Microsoft.com's search field to get the appropriate update. Download it, install it manually.

Search Microsoft.com
Advanced Search
Bing

Any one of those 3 with the KB & # will get you everything you need. You have to remember, Win7 was just released 2 days ago and there is massive strain on their servers. So some updates may not work right now with the amount of people trying to get them all at this point in time.

Can also try just going through Bing with Office Update Error 646. Doing so got me:

Error code 646

Among so many more.
