Unhappy Windows Update

Alright, I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP2, and I have recently just installed SP2. When trying to use Windows Update, it downloads the updates but, didn't install them, when I try to redownload the updates, it doesn't download, just says that the updates are ready to be installed, I try to install them, it then says the updates weren't installed, how can I fix this? Thanks in advance for the advice, Jeremiah.

Have you tried to restart the PC and then install the updates?

As far as it not downloading, it's probably because the downloads have already been previously downloaded, and currently reside in your internet cache. If you're running internet explorer, go to Tools->internet options, then select delete files, in the Temporary Internet Files category. This might solve the problem.

If not, can you give any more specific on error messages?
