| Windows 'on' time What is the longest time you have seen a windows based OS turned on for? Excluding server OS's since they are designed to be on for longer periods of time.
The company I work at we support thousands of desktops and servers accross the US.
The longest time i've seen was windows 2000 and it was on for 2800 hours. Or roughly 116 days. Keep in mind there is a DB on that computer that is about 800mb in size, so needless to say there were some issues...
What is the longest you've seen or had your computer running constantly? |

| Re: Windows 'on' time I haven't had my computer on more than a day or two. I think in college i'd keep my computer on for a few days at a time, but no longer. |

| Re: Windows 'on' time On average, I would say 3 to 5 weeks or so? Dunno about the longest, but it was a whiiilllleee.
I think the last time I restarted it was the last time I was overclocking.

| Re: Windows 'on' time Pretty much the same here. I don't restart unless there is a reason, like an update or a program installation that requires it. Or the power goes out as is prone where I live. >.< |

| Re: Windows 'on' time I used to have my old desktop on for several weeks at a time while I used to host a vent server. Think longest I had it on was like 3x days. I usually turn mine off at night now because the fans annoy me when I'm trying to sleep as I always keep them on high

I don't auto update, and have been using my laptop mostly lately. | If you have Vista you might want to consider changing that. The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) : Microsoft Security Advisory 975497 Released
Major flaw discovered that affect Vista.
