Default Windows System problem
Hello all, i am running windows xp sp2 oem home edition. About every one in ten boots i get the error message windows could not boot because this file is corupt:

\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

I have been getting around this problem by just rebooting but am tired of having this nagging problem. i wrote down the corupted file name and then rebooted, went into bios told it to boot from cd, put in the windows disk went into repair mode and typed in the corupted file name, i get a error message saying windows could not find this file.

Any surgestions, i dont want to lose all my settings, data etc...

Any help appreciated.

Warning Do not use the procedure that is described in this article if your computer has an OEM-installed operating system.

It doesnt apply to me as i use an oem version.
