Default Windows startup sound

I want to change my windows start up sound... i had it changed before but a recent chain of reaction of bad things has caused the sound to go back to default. I would like to change it back to the sound files I had created but I can't remember where I had done it and google wasn't much help. Any ideas where I can do this... I remember finding it in the Windows directory but theres just too much to search through and I can't remember the name of the files to search either. ???

Hello,

Windows Vista or Windows XP? Can not help you without knowing which OS.

If it is Vista this article might prove to be of some good read for you.

Big Thanks to Trotter for the HDD. Big Thanks to CarnageX for the Video Card. Big thanks to Saxon, without you none of this would be possible.

You inspired me to change my startup sound. I used to have the very beginning of the Star Trek theme.. you know the tones at the first of it? Well, I lost it on my last format.

This is my new startup.
