Default Windows raid

im trying to set up a raid 5 in windows, im using a GA-p35 dq6. it has 2 controlers for raid, set up as follows

gigabyte controler: 2*160gig in raid 1 (for os)
this is set up and working i installed the raid drivers as i set up windows.

intel controler: 4*500 gig (to be in raid 5
1*optical drive.
with the intel controler disabled, the hard drives show up in xp disk manager and im sure if i wanted i could set up the raid. however, i want to set them to AHCI mode, but if i do that the boot gets stuck at verfying dmi data pool. any ideas why?

i didnt create a raid in the mobo controler config cause i want to set it up in windows if i ever have to move it, this is my data space

and ideas why i get stuck? or how to fix it?

no you only need 3, but a fourth increases performance significantly, plus it offers reudency and increased read time for minor cpu requirments, given im using a q6600 its not an issue
