Default Windows Media player plugin won't work

I've tried with Mozilla and Internet explorer. I have WMP10 w/ updates. It just won't work. It will load the plugin, then the play buttons and such will gray out, and it won't work. Any idea what to do? If I download the videos to play them it works fine. This is with all sites that use wmp plugins like that, like ebaumsworld and launch.com.
