Fat.Clown will become famous soon enough

Default windows media player 12

version: 12.0.7100.0
came with the RC of Windows 7

anyone hate it as much as i do?

they removed couple features that I used a lot in the past version of WMP

1. no more "find item in library"

when I add music from a mixed album, sometimes the tracks will find their way to their artist's album instead of the album that it's from...... sounds confusing...

okay, for example, if I added "Just Dance", by Lady Gaga from the album NOW that's what I call music 30. I like the track to stay within that album, instead of finding it's way to Lady Gaga's The Fame album

manually changing the album title fixes that problem, but...... keyword manually

2. no more "now playing list"

I know there is still a playlist on the right, but it doesn't show misc. information like year, rating and the composer of the track.

okay.... so maybe I am a control freak...... but anyone have a suggestion? or a workaround they use?

Yeah wait for the final. It is a much more complete version than the one used in the RC.

To get the Now Playing, Right Click above the Music Library, select View. Now Playing is listed right there and shows like it did previously.

As for the other problem, maybe try editing the Meta Data?

I'm still using windows media 10, works great for me. That's why I did not upgrade, always too many problems. I guess it depends on what you are doing on it.

There is no choice but to use WMP12 in Win7 as that is the one that comes installed.

I know it. I'm trying to keep XP as long as possible, but that brings up another question. I wonder how long programs will run on XP? They still support Windows 2000 in most of them.

I don't know about you, but Windows Media Player 12 is the only WMP I've used in a while. I like the way I can organise my media in this version.

My only problem with is is the lack of codecs for things like FLAC, and blu-ray video - I have installed a FLAC codec, which works fine except that the progress/seek bar doesn't work.
Also, I've installed CoreAVC, but only some blu-ray videoes work.

Run Win7 for a while and you'll never wanna go back to XP.

I just always install the full K-Lite codec pack and pick to install everything and then set my defaults back to whatever they were before; easiest for me.

I think it can make things run slower if you have too many codecs.
I just need one for FLAC, and maybe a couple for blu-ray movies.

FLAC - download

Maybe that will help you play FLAC files?

That's what I've got.
It plays, and I can add them to my library. But the progress bar doesn't work.
