Default Windows locking up when running search

My uncle's Windows XP computer always freezes when trying to run a search. It only does it when running a search and everything else on the computer works fine. Doing a controld alt delete shows everything running but the cpu will be stuck at 100%. Would anybody have a guess on why it would do this?

Hello,

Have you installed the latest version of the Windows Search software? They are on version 4 now. That might help. If you are using Google make sure you update that toolbar as well.

Cheers,
Mak

I can try installing that software. But he is actually just using the regular search that comes with Windows. He isn't using any toolbars either. I just thought it was odd that it only did it with the search feature.
