Windows Live Messenger Keeps Forgetting My Sign In Details When I Restart My Computer

Everytime i restart my computer, WLM Keeps forgetting me even though i have clicked on remember me and password... Its just started to happen recently. Dont know how it happened and its really annoying. Help please, thanks

you might not find this useful, i keep saying it to a lot of people. you might want to give aMSN a try. it's a replacement for the official MSN client, that incorporates quite a lot of useful features that Microsoft's implementation doesn't.

i know that doesn't really directly answer your question. all i can think of is that i have seen MSN clients lose passwords if the pc is shutdown/restarted without the client being closed. also the password is removed on a failed login if i remember correctly.

Yeah but everytime you try to log into msn 7.5 it keeps saying an updateit required to continue..

Try using WLM 8.1. You are on a old version which i dont think even Microsoft supports anymore. MSN and WLM both have had soem massive issue recently.

Well, i have 9.0 now.. and it was doing it before i upgraded

As i have stated. MSN and WLM BOTH have had issues. Doesnt matter which version you are running. Check the threads. You will see people running Version from 7.5-9.0 are having issues all around with MSN/WLM.

3 threads in just as many days. It is a server problem. Nothing we can do about it. Microsoft has to fix it on their end.

Yes i understand, but obviously something has stuffed up in the OS.. i created another user and installed WLM and it remembered me when i restarted..

So clear your cache and all temp data. Uninstall WLM and re-install it.

How do you clear the cache? Where is it located?

Use CCleaner.

Either that or open your browser and clear all temp data and personal stuff from it. Cache is all browser related stuff. But it gets stored on the PC and can cause issues at times.
