I just got a real cheap lappy, that a college kid gave me to play around with, it's an Acer 5610Z, I dont have the disks for it, however his previous install of vista was all ate up, so I formatted and did a reinstall... It works great until I power it on and off, If I choose restart, I get an error screen that wont let me go any further.. I have formatted, and reinstalled windows 5 timesnow with the same error

"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware chagnge or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem do one of the following....ect ect

Anyone have any suggestons? I have tried to repair the install like it told me and nothing..

Try running a chkdsk /r from the Vista disc on the drive.
