Default windows 98

i am having some troubles installing windows 98 on some of my computers. i think the problem might be a bios setting that is interfering with 98. after i install 98 it comes with the desktop for the first time i get a blue screen. its werid,

In the BIOS, Turn the HDD S.M.A.R.T. Capabillity off before trying to install.

it doenst have smart capability in the bios, its only a original pentium.

it doesn't say anything in windows 98 as far as I can remember

its a hardware issue, take out unnecesary parts and replace RAM or take one stick out and try with one stich at the time (if u have mutiple)

What exactly is the message that u get on the blue screen if u have sumthing like 0x0000xxx (where x could be any number or alphabet) or may be if u get a stop and a message u could tell us what the exact problem is and then i can help u much better

ok, im sorry i cant reply right now with the bsod code since school just went back, im planning to get stuck into fixing this problem on the weekend since i have basicly no free time, thanks anyway
