| Windows 7 system image Has anyone tested the 'system image' backup in windows 7? I know with Vista it was crap and rarely worked (at least in my experience). |

| Re: Windows 7 system image Going to tomorrow, bouts to head to bed now. But i'm going to do a backup to see how well that works and do a system image after i've installed all of my normal software.
Is the recovery disk the same tools that come with the install DVD? |

| Re: Windows 7 system image Gotcha, but what i mean is there is an option to create a recovery disk, but i've read (same forum that you posted) that it has the same tools that come with the DVD.
I'll try all three tomorrow (recovery, system image and backup).
Amazed at how similar windows 7 is to Vista. Minus the UAC. Still dinking around with it though.

| Re: Windows 7 system image In Control Panel, click System and Security (System and Security), and then click Backup and Restore (Backup and Restore).
In the left pane, click Create a system recovery disk (Create a system recovery disc);
Insert a blank CD in the DVD, and then click Create Disk (Create Disc). |

| Re: Windows 7 system image Hehe i know i know. THe only reason i asked about it was because i found it and wanted to know if it worked. Thanks for the info Osiris.
Believe it or not windows 7 uses 10% less RAM then Vista did. And I have the same programs running. I have 2 gig ram and at startup i would be using 40%, now i'm using 29%. |

| Re: Windows 7 system image Agreed man. Still trying to tweak the quicklaunch bar, but it only took like 20 minutes to get everything how i wanted it (background, power options, aero interface, resolution, etc).
I enjoy it, always like new toys. Now I get to install my new RAID controller on my desktop (win7 is on the laptop). Too many toys, so little time... |
