M4A1 Ultra Techie Join Date: Apr 2005 Posts: 950	Windows 7: System Error Messages Is there anyway to view system logs of error messages? My PC shuts down once in a while (I think overheating), but I'd like to make sure. It did the same w/ Vista.

Check the event logs. Same and vista, there is a section called performance and monitoring where you can check the logs of the system.

Go control pannel, then system and security, administrator tools, performance monitor.

If you believe it is overheating download a free temp monitoring program and verify it yourself.

Start>Run>eventvwr.msc

That will give you the layout of all the errors.
