ZeroShade is on a distinguished road

Default Windows 7 power management

Is it possible to make my system appear as if its shutdown? Reason I'm asking is that my roommates are always complaining that I keep my system on... but I'm usually downloading something or needing something remotley... is there a way to make it appear as if its shut down yet I can still remote in or download? I'm assuming there is software for this but I havn't come across anything. Thanks.

Default Re: Windows 7 power management

The only thing you could do is either:

1. turn off your monitor
2. let your system go into low power standby

Other than that there is nothing more that can be done. Simply put, the fans inside dont go off and as soon as you access the machine they can figure out that it isnt off.

Make sure you have no colored case fans, turn off the monitor and hope they dont hear the drives spinning up when you remote in.
