Default Windows 7 - Media Center Gadget question

I'm kinda interested in this gadget, but I noticed to play music it opens up the actual media center. This kinda renders it useless.

Is there any alternatives to it? I want to play music and have it right on my desktop at all times. It's pretty cool to have, and I'm sick of Winamp for some reason.

There is no way it will work. Plain and simple, media center gadget must work with media center. There are plenty of WMP and other such gadgets that you can use that can have the program minimized or not shown at all.
