At least 75% of the population have no clue what type of system they have, no idea what type of hardware they have and even less of a idea about drivers.
The other 25% are made of those that are either the enthusiasts or those who are hard core PC users. We are the minority.
So most of the upgrades being done are by people who dont know or understand that they will need new hardware or drivers.

Still i can dream, which is why i think Windows 7 will be a bit underrated to those that dont know much about it compared to Windows XP or Vista that they know about or use within their experiences.

I run Microsoft Security Essentials. But since that can not be obtained anymore since they closed the Beta, you can use AVG or Avast. NOD32 also works. | Cool, good to know.
I saw that MSE thread on here. Seems interesting. I guess for now I'll download AVG. |

| Re: Windows 7 Thread and FAQ Windows 7 Beta Kill Switch Activated
If you are still running the beta version of Windows 7, someone will come to your house every two hours and punch you in the face until your dumb *** installs the release candidate. That's what I heard anyway. Beginning today, users that are still running the trial version of the company's next OS will see it shut down every two hours. The interruptions are designed to encourage early adopters to move to Windows 7 Release Candidate, a more polished preview version of Vista's successor. |

| Re: Windows 7 Thread and FAQ Looks like rtm is going to be out on the 13th. Right now there is a build out 26** something and they're saying it's not accepting beta or rc keys so we are getting really close to final rtm YouTube - Tech Update Episode 66

| Re: Windows 7 Thread and FAQ It is not a 26XX build. That is a XP Build number. XP itself was build 2600. It would have to be a 72XX build number or higher. Win7 RC was Build 7100.
The 13th is only a rumor. It has not been confirmed even by the most hard core M$ people yet.
