Dock apps are kind of obsolete in Windows 7
Whenever I get a new blu-ray movie, I just use AnyDVD and copy the .m2ts file to one of my hard drives.
I find it easier; plus, hard drives are faster.
Mind you, I've found that only h.264 movies play in WMP 12; VC1 movies won't. So I use MPC-HC with DXVA | thx for the responses Apok. Btw, where have u been?

| Re: Windows 7 FAQ and Questions Found out Nero 7 has issues with Windows 7 (How ironic LOL) I was wondering if downloading the XP mode would work for this (I have Win 7 Pro) or is the crash to do with something else, What happens is it gets half way installed and then crashes and when you try to uninstall it won't because it's missing some needed files to do so.... Which also stops you from installing a newer version, I have Nero Ultimate (purchased a while ago) and a nero 8 disk that came with a DVD rom. I did get it uninstalled with a third party uninstaller but would really like my Nero 7 working, I don't really like the extra crud Nero is putting into the newer versions and 7 does all I need it too.

| Re: Windows 7 FAQ and Questions Of course Nero 7 will have issues with Win7. It is OLD.
Yes XP Mode will work but remember it is a Virtual Machine not a dual boot! Meaning it will not be lightning fast. So dont install XP Mode and then come back saying it is slow. Also does your hardware support Virtualization? If not you can NOT run XP Mode.
They are not even considering Nero 7 for compatibility with Win7. They are only starting at Nero 8 for compatibility in their Compatibility Center. So the chances it will ever work natively is not good. Have you tried Compatibility Mode?

| Re: Windows 7 FAQ and Questions Yes I used the compatability mode on install, unfortunatly the uninstal didn't work so well and when I tried to install nero8 again, it tells me there is a previous vers. That has to be uninstalled first, but it was late and gave up for the night but I'll try again after work tonight. A google search has a lot of info on this issue so hopefully I can get it cleaned out and 8 put in, my system can run the vertual no prob but I'm gonna give up on the 7 if I can ever get it out. I would have just gone back to a earlier date from the win install but I've installed so much other stuff since and didn't realise it had this issue, oh the fun. Thanks for the help as always Mak, your the best.

Hmm i will have to tell my dad this if he ever wants to buy Windows 7 Professional.

| Re: Windows 7 FAQ and Questions It is running XP under 7, but its running it under a Virtual machine, which takes power away from the host OS to dedicate it to the VM, which makes it slow.

| Re: Windows 7 FAQ and Questions Hey, question about win7 install. From what i hear the upgrade takes longer than a fresh install, but how long on average should it take to upgrade from vista? (Dell upgrade disk if it matters)
For a friend, win7 will not corrupt my mac
