Default Windows 7 dual boot

okay, because of a few kids and some misfortune , my computer ended up getting demolished by some mountain dew, anyway, me and my friend ended up saving everything but the processor. so we decided to take his computer and my computer to make a mini super computer.

now here is the problem. we both have windows 7 beta as our main os, and no other os is installed on EITHER of our hard drives. system specs

intel pentium dual core 1.6 ghz (i think)
5.5 gb ram
680i lt sli Mobo
two hard drives, they are both sata, mine is 320 gb with windows7 on it his is 250 that is partioned in two with windows 7 on it, mine is the one that boots first, his just acts like storage.

8600 nvidia sli graphics

now, he wants to play his games with his saves and i want to play my games with my saves, the problem is, it only loads MY windows 7 and it doesnt load his, it doesnt even ask me which OS i want to boot when i restart the computer.

so what im asking is, is there a way to make it so i can dual boot both windows 7's, so he can have his stuff as if it was his old computer, and i can boot my stuff as if it was my computer, get what im saying?

i like to think that i am a bit savy with a computer, but im not a genius, so if there is anything i missed or you need some more info, i will be glad to tell you.

thanks in advance

didnt work, or i did something wrong.

i got the latest build of bcd 2.0 beta (i think) and it doesnt give me an option for windows 7, i figured since windows 7 and vista are closely related, i would add an entry for his win 7 and vista, but it didnt work, the computer just reboots. any ideas?

Where did you get the EasyBCD 2.0 from?

EasyBCD 2.0 Beta Builds - The NeoSmart Forums

should be the very first post in that thread Build 63.

yep, thats the one, and that is where i got it from, it recognizes that i have windows 7, but it doesnt give me the option to add another windows 7 to the boot list, that highest it goes is vista/longhorn. if there is any way to just copy my win7 boot log thing and change the drive, i think that would work, or i might be doing something wrong

i click the add or remove entries button and at the top it say that there is my win7, then at the bottom i can click an arrow that gives me a list of windows OS and the top one is vista/longhorn. i dont really know how to use the program all to well, so i might be missing something

Win7 is still just classified as Vista. So just add a Vista entry, rename it to Win7 and point it to where you have the other install of Win7.

i did what you said, and still no luck. did i mention that his hdd is partioned into 2? i point it the the g drive (which is the one with all the windows files) and i leave everything else alone. i boot the comp up, it ask win 7 or win 7 t (t for tony lol) i click win7 t and it boots up and says i need to insert installation disk and repair (it lso asks to boot in dafe mode last know... blah blah) so i enter start windows normally, it loads the win7 animated logo gets a blue screen of death, which i dont know what it says, i have to change the stuff around so it doesnt reboot after failure, and then asks me which OS to boot again, im kinda at a loss cause i have tried everything in my knowledge and i still cant get it to work lol

Well you have to figure out what that BSOD is. Cause from the sounds of it the dual boot is working. It is just the OS that isnt. Which EasyBCD did its part. Now it is up to you to figure out why the 2nd install is crashing.
