Windows 7 digital download?

Since I'm a college student, I can buy windows 7 online digitally for $30. If I do this, can I put it on a disc and use it to wipe out my pc and etc.?

Is it an upgrade version or full version..

i'm downloading this now. it will allow access to installation files which can be burned, but since its an upgrade, an prior installation will always be needed to install win 7. it won't allow boot to cd. you'd have to customize it

Oh, ok. So I'll need xp or vista installed first, not a fresh HDD or something. Sounds good! so I can download this on my laptop, put it on a disc, and install it on my desktop? I'm not even going to attempt to download it at school... speeds are capped at 120kb/s here, would take a week to download lol.

You just need to burn the extracted files from that download to a bootable DVD.

ok, so I got the 64-bit version, but it doesnt work if you go from 32-64. I get an error while its "unloading the box." Should I used a vista disc I have to format the hdd, then use that usb tool you guys posted and install from there?

You can't upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit.

That's all you need to know man. I had to do that due to installation problems with the three dinky files they give you with that digital copy. Just remember to run the HP setup file after the download is finished to get the expandedSetup folder it's talking about. I did have to do it on a different computer because the upgrade made the computer unusable all together.
