Default Windows 2008: schedule vbscript as task?

i scheduled a vbscript to run as a task on a Server 2008 pc, but its like the script doesn't start. Funny thing, I can see the wscript.exe process in task manager. It uses some cpu cycles but bottoms out. When I initiate the vbscript through the GUI, the script completes as expected.

the script creates batch files and runs them with cmd /c. When I start the task, it never creates the files.
