Default Win XP Upgrade HD

I'm sure this is posted somewhere but I'm unable to find it. I want to upgrade my HD to a bigger one. I'm using winxp pro. Can I use Norton's ghost to copy everything? does it really work? and what ramifications will I run into when win xp dials home and tells MS about my new hardware? Any help or links would be appreciated.

the copy protection of xp will not allow ghosting of images. When it dials M$ it will conflict with the database. but none the less just give us a call and we will give you a new key if you need one.
