Default will recovery cd work

Hi all I just want to say that you guys on this forum are great first of all. I try and do my own research before I post a thread but Im not having much luck w/ a definitive answer on this one. I recently upgraded my ibm thinkpad and am currently awaiting my new 1gb ram and a recovery cd from ibm to reinstall winxp as I had been running win2k pro. Now heres the rub ...The thinkpad originally came w/ winxp installed and I have the COA sticker and product key on the back Im not sure why my brother installed win2k pro on the new hd but he did and thats what I have been using so am I going to have a problem when I use the winxp recovery cd to reinstall xp onto this hd? Thanks for any input.
