A lot of people dont know that Limewire was developed under the GNU license. I have been working on a Version of LW withought the Nagware, but I still need help with it, in a couple of months I will be opening up a Sourceforge.net page for it Called LimeWire OSE (Open Source Edition)

I have used XP Pro on my old computer and XP home on this one currently. I honestly dont see any difference, XP home is just fine for me. I also got it for free from a friend, thats the most important.

I hated limewire and kazza, i use Ares sometimes if i decide to do any P2P which i dont do very often. Try out Ares sometime if your worried about virus's, i have never gotton one through that program.

slow methodical progress
its been around longer than the others
bsd style init scripts
excellent support base
straight forward website with all packages and OS disks available together or separate
good documentation
comes with most of the software many distros leave out
