As it says.. I can't turn on Areo.

System spec s are in my sig. I'm not running SLI, just folding.

Any error messages when trying to turn it on? Have you reinstalled drivers to make sure nothing conflicting happened there?

I get no option to switch over to it... Just Vista basic,, winows basic.

i know that with server 08 you have to enable "desktop experience" in the server manager and then enable "themes" to have access to aero. otherwise it doesnt give you the option to enable it.

I've checked running services, had read needed themes and desktop manager running, and both were.

So strange.. my laptop runs it fine, and my desktop can't.

****ING **** ****......... It's pcanywhere! After having a brainflash, I remembered it saying something bout it turning to basic view.

Did some searching and found pcanywhere doesn'tunlock basic view when disconnecting. grrrrrrrrrrrr

AnywAY the fix, It was a mirrored drfiverf issue with pcanywhere. Further digging found me a patch
After connecting to a Host in Windows Vista 64 bit the AERO interface is disabled and is no longer an option after disconnecting the pcAnywhere remote.

That solves the issue.

Figured I'd inform the next poor sucker who has this issue due to pcanywhere.
